I won't forget that Barry Ritholz answered a comment of mine on one of his pieces. I said if we raised the cap on Social Security income (currently $184,500) we could solve the social security mess. He said absolutely, double it, and social security would be solvent for 50 years. I still believe this and I be he does too. Double it to $365,000 which would make it much more fair (honestly, raise it to one million dollars, as Dr. Evil said) and you would never have to worry. I still feel, once we get rid of trump, this could be a bipartisan issue. It would play well in almost every state except maybe NY where you have a lot of wall street people.
