I don't know what to do, y'all!

Facing another day without Paul?

Oh, well, guess it's all for the best

'Cause even Krugman needs some rest.

George Hicks's avatar

He’s taking a “day off” (from us) so he can get some work done.

Also, a chance to say what's on your mind. Shame on the Supreme Court's abject cruelty with their decision to support Trump and deport thousands of refugees. I can't imagine sending anybody back to a country like Haiti ruled by ruthless criminal gangs. The shakedown starts on arrival.

Might as well demolish the Statue of Liberty with its promise: "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free." It could make room for a new Trump Tower.

Shhhhhhh! Don't give him any ideas!

Any great day for Stephen Miller is a bad day for America.

You can't imagine it? Dude, you live in one!

Sandra Brown's avatar

Probably that’s what it is. Where are you from George ? Can we follow each others and be friends.

Happy burrowing, Paul.

Paul-withdrawal! Might we talk amongst ourselves? My head is exploding over this: “American citizens were ordered to be held in a federal facility against their will after CDC’s own medical reviewer and other outside experts recommended they be allowed to be monitored at home. The orders were signed by Jay Bhattacharya as acting CDC director. This is the same guy who built a public profile arguing that the Covid-19 response went too far against medical freedom, now taking away more freedom from U.S. citizens than CDC scientists deemed necessary.”

Or the postmaster general saying mailin ballots won't be delivered if the state doesn't deliver voting rolls for purging before the election.

Paul Ellis's avatar

The absolute scariest thing is when they mess around with voting.

Rena Stone's avatar

But I'm going to go into withdrawal!

Good for you. Have a good day.

Enjoy the time off and research well and in peace. The rest of it will still be here...unfortunately. Your insights are much appreciated.

A day without Paul is a day without sunshine.

Paul has redefined the meaning of “time off.” During recess in second grade, he probably asked his teacher if he could do extra math problems instead.

pkidd's avatar

Probably true!😂

Mauimom's avatar

I did. I LOVE math problems!

Retires to put on fluffy white jacket.

So true! He’s only a of couple years younger than I am, yet I have to nap after reading the morning columns. It’s only 9 am and my brain is exhausted.

Don B's avatar

That’s great. My daily afternoon nap is sacred.

LHS's avatar

LOL! Yes, he is "taking time off" to dive into some data. 😃

You’re right. Let’s be friends

Posting every day can be wearing; days off are important for recharging. But would've been interesting to get your take on the Tuesday Democratic primary results in New York.

You could always go swimming in his pool, but no...Maybe go jiggin in his dance hall...but no. again...how about a cheap vacation in Iran, or Cuba, or Venezuela...Or, count the bullshit piles in D.C.? Or, go visit the art installation, tarpaulin, at the Kennedy center? So many options, so little time

Mauimom's avatar

Or week.

Parlez-vous français?

Thanks for writing this newsletter Paul, I really appreciate it. However, I don't need emails saying you're taking the day off. Just take the day off, I'm happy for you. Thanks for all you do and standing up to Mr Spray Tan.

Rena Stone's avatar

I need the emails - otherwise I'd get anxious that something had happened to him.
