That’s okay! Everyone needs a break now and then! I will be on vacation away from people! I need to make life decisions! I understand your one of the best professors to teach us economics and climate change science!

My father and I (who could be described as a being addicted to Paul Krugman’s posts) are amazed how prolific you are. Take the break!

Yes, I was pretty happy with a PK column once a week in the NYT. The more the better, but a few times a week in the substack works for me. No apologies necessary, pace yourself.

Hope everything’s ok. Please be well.

AI seems like the next wave of the surveillance state, in the main. You'll tell it everything, and kill yourself when it demands. The ultimate antidote to the Constitution's Fourth Amendment.

I think the real social story of this decade has been how "stupid became the new smart." How demonstrable nonsense dominates the pipeline of disinformation being consumed by nearly everyone. When a woman goes off on her veterinarian because she is "trying to kill" the client's cats with "rabies vaccine," we have reached the level of full stupid, not only because the New York Times reported it, but also because it actually happened.

Krugman must be pretty lonely, if he has neighbors like mine. Every attempt to have a discussion about anything serious, technical, or detailed warps right out of orbit and back to Trump, in an instant. Things seem to be going right in line with the billionaires' planbook to make us stupid, subservient, and supine.

Please feel guilt free about some well-deserved down time, Sir.

Thank you for your steadfast support of democracy, truth, and the education of us all with your unique talent at producing enlightened clear explanations of opaque topics. That takes work! Enjoy the brief respite.

Lawyering by nature are sort-of ‘AI,’ you have a trained thing, and lots of law and history, and the history is the precedence…so you digest this, create a product, maybe a valid contract, a case in court. The issues we have is who is responsible if the input is not directly human, who is liable? Driverless cars have a crash, who pays?

Modeling, like climate science, is powerful! But we don’t call this AI…WHY? Because lots of humans are not actually intelligent either…the GOP is a hallucinatory AI output after all!

This is SO much better than when you wrote for the Times. Then you were just another byline, though one I followed relgiously. Now you're pretty much a whole person with a life. It's wonderful.

Take it easy, Paul. We’re happy to wait.

Thank you for modeling how to rest and regroup when needed.

Paul is great, and he is not modeling how to rest at all. He went to Europe a few months ago, told us was going to be busy and not posting for a few days, yet he posted every day. After that, he’s only taken 2 or 3 days off in total, and when he does he still posts something, like this video today. Learn about economics and defending democracy from him, but not about resting or vacationing
